Carmen Lucente established a legal practice in Brantford, ON after a successful 30 year paralegal career with the Ministry of the Attorney General and with the Ministry of Labour. Within both Ministries, Carmen represented claimants at all levels of appeals, including up to the Tribunal level of the Workers' Compensation Board (WCB) and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). While with the Ministry of the Attorney General, Carmen also represented clients at Canada Pension Plan Disability (CPP) hearings,  Landlord & Tenant hearings, and at Small Claims Court. In addition to her extensive career as a paralegal, she also held a Regional Manager position with the Ministry of Labour in an agency dealing exclusively with WSIB appeals. While WSIB appeals were the focus, her role as a Regional Manager included employee WSIB claims management,  return to work plans, dispute resolution, short and long term employee disability management, staff relations mediation and arbitration, including mediation of conflict, bullying and harassment issues.  She has now expanded her scope of experience to include Human Rights and Employment Standards.

Wally Lucente has been a partner with the expanded Lucente Legal for a number of years following his successful 30 year career with the Office of the Worker Adviser, representing workers with complex Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB) issues from coaching to summary advice to appeals at the final level of Appeal, the Workplace Safety and Insurance Appeals Tribunal (WSIAT). Aside from representing workers at over 2,000 in-person WSIB and WSIAT hearings, Wally's experience includes representation for Canada Pension Plan, Employment Standards, Employment Insurance, Landlord & Tenant hearings and Small Claims Court. Wally negotiated numerous agreements, including collective agreements, grievance settlements and arbitrations while sitting for 15 years as an Alderman/Councillor for City of Brantford and Chair of the Police Services for both the City of Brantford and County of Brant.

Carmen and Wally are both licenced and in good standing with the Law Society of Upper Canada. They are also certified mediators with the ADR Institute of Ontario. Both are happy to bring those extensive skills to Brantford where they can continue to work diligently to achieve the best results possible for her clients.
